Description
Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service. Accepts and completes monetary transactions and associated documentation for mutuel betting in strict accordance with racing regulations and company policies and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greets customers in a friendly manner.
- Sells pari-mutuel tickets to guests at the mutuels counter.
- Cashes pari-mutuel tickets for guests.
- Comply with Title 31 and IRS regulations.
- Answers customer’s inquiries regarding company activities and/or promotions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Basic math skills.
- Wear a uniform and groom appropriately.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Obtain a New Mexico Racing License
- Must have excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills.
- Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers and guests.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work as part of a team and promote a cooperative approach between departments and co-workers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; exposure to unrestricted second-hand smoke in guest areas; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
