Mandatory Mask Use is Discontinued at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino
(SUNLAND PARK) The masks are off, and the smiles are back at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino.
Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino officials announced that their guests will no longer be required to wear masks at the popular entertainment complex. Coinciding with the removal of the state’s indoor mask mandate by New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, the new policy will take effect immediately.
“We are thrilled, and we know our loyal guests and staff members are, too,” said Kyle Lim, SPRC General Manager. “We’ve all gone through so much over the past few years, and we genuinely appreciate how everyone was so understanding. We are extremely happy to be able to see everyone’s smiling faces again.”
“This couldn’t happen at a better time,” said Ahmad Mughni, Executive Director of Property Operations. “We’re running races four days a week with our world-famous Sunland Derby just around the corner. Plus, we are in the middle of two huge, exciting casino promotions, Winner Wonderland and Cupid Cash. With all this going on, we are trying to give our guests a lot to smile about, and now we’ll get to see those smiles.”
The Sunland Park management team was extremely happy, but also ready to remind any players or staff members that, should they feel more comfortable wearing a mask, they should do so. “We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel comfortable and that masks are fine, just not required,” said Lim.
Mughni also wanted to thank the area’s healthcare workers for all they have done. “They are the true heroes, and we salute them on behalf of all of us here.”
Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino is New Mexico’s premier gaming destination featuring a state-of-the-art horse racetrack, a casino floor with over 700 slot machines and electronic table games, restaurants, and multiple live entertainment venues.
