Marketing Director


Position:                       Marketing Director

Directly Reports To:     General Manager

Status:                          Exempt


Responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies related to promotions, players club, and Group Sales while maintaining and delivering brand consistent messages and promises.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designs, implements, maintains and evaluates all marketing plans related to Casino and Racing while emphasizing maximum utilization of established budget.
  • Oversees operations of Players Club, Data Base Analyst, and Promotions areas of Marketing.
  • Ensures growth in Players Club membership and card utilization by proposing and implementing new programs.
  • Approves all strategy and tactical plans with the General Manager.
  • Interfaces regularly with the key marketing members and key management members to ensure successful implementation of all marketing plans.
  • Prepares monthly marketing reports for management on key metrics developed for the Marketing Department.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, to include gaming and racing protocol.
  • Develops and distributes monthly club activity reports.
  • Prepares yearly department budget and ensures maximum utilization of that budget.
  • Collaborates with other departments on special events and/or promotions.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the Marketing area, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, assisting with career development, disciplining and terminating employees, as needed.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the Marketing area by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled departmental meetings with all Marketing employees.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing and at least five years in marketing director role within the entertainment, gaming industry, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of database marketing.
  • Proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program within the casino industry.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with the public.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have stress tolerance and decision making abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
  • Must be able to obtain a New Mexico Racing License and a New Mexico Gaming Work Permit (must be 21 years of age and pass an extensive background investigation).
