Description

Manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and tax audits. Uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts. Provides supervision to the accounting staff. Ultimately, she/he should be able to ensure that financial management is accurate and effective.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for auditing and reviewing the daily work performed by the Casino Accounting staff.
  • Maintains good working relationships with the Gaming Commission and the Federal and State Tax Commissions.
  • Organizes adequate staffing levels in the department, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and terminating associates, as needed.
  • Review departmental reports addressing potential conflicts and/or misinformation.
  • Held accountable, to the highest degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Reviews all expenditures, financial reports, and other information provided by the Accounting department to ensure accuracy including balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations by account.
  • Responsible for auditing, reviewing, and recording the company’s daily revenue from the casino floor and Slot Data System.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, expense analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and financial statement interpretation required.
  • Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate, with superior spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and job duties simultaneously.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Degree in accounting, business administration, or related area; or years of related experience in a position responsible for trial balance and financial statement preparation including management of Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue Accounting.
  • Must be able to obtain a New Mexico Gaming Work Permit (must pass a criminal and credit investigation).
