Thunder Dome headlines Sunday’s $85,000 Albert Dominguez Memorial

Sunday’s $85,000 Albert Dominguez Memorial Handicap (8th race) is a terrific Thoroughbred feature at 1 and 1/16 miles.

$85,000 Johnie L. Jamison Stakes winner Thunder Dome is coming off a stellar 2018 campaign with 6 wins from 11 starts. The son of Dome is seeking his fourth win in a row and third straight stakes win for trainer Dallas Barton. Thunder Dome drove to a one length win in the Jamison Stakes at six and one-half furlongs over Go for a Stroll. The extremely versatile 8-5 morning line favorite is equally effective going a route distance. His bankroll is nearing the $530,000 plateau.

Defending champion Shining Source, Go for a Stroll, Streaks Bro and Hute help make up a very deep 9-horse field. Combined lifetime earnings in the Dominguez field is nearly $3 million.

Post time on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Friday is 12:30 p.m.
